Happy Mothers Day! I am lucky enough to still have an amazing Mom in my life. I had the pleasure of attending an awesome event on Friday. If you don’t know about Jonathan you should, he is responsible for some of the most amazing photos and album covers on the planet.
I walked in the door to my good friend Quix-05 juggling Michael Jackson’s “Bille Jean” with the one and only DJ Quik on the mic hosting. Yes, even at an art show for photography my attention was on the music first. After saying hello to a few friends I began to walk the gallery and was mesmerized by all of the spectacular photos. True artwork leaves me speechless, so I wasn’t talking as I walked around the gallery to enjoy the pics.
With another good friend of mine Mr. Choc about to get on the turntables my attention was back to the stage. Choc began to go through a classic hip hop set to bring out the legendery MC Big Daddy Kane. Watching these two masters of their craft perform was very inspiring.
As a music lover with an appreciation for artwork I couldn’t have attended a better event. Shout outs to Jonathan Mannion for creating so many classic images for our culture. Big ups to Reebok for sponsoring this event. Thanks to Mr. Choc for inviting me, I wish there were a lot more nights like this.

Was going through some jams today and came across this record. Couldn’t help but remember all the good times we had working on the “Street Magician” project back in 2010. There are 16 original songs on this “mixtalbum” and “Name Droppin” is definitely one of my favorites. Shout out to Lucky Lotto for lacing all the tracks with dope lyrics and also my homie DJ Warrior for hosting.
